My name is Doug Gambardella. I’m a freelance writer living and working in New York City.
I’ve been writing ever since I could scribble on a page. I wasn’t a particularly good writer then, as there were a lot of aimless stories about skateboarding turtles, but I was enthusiastic and I think that counts for something. By the time I had graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing I had a good deal more technical ability and experience to pair with all that enthusiasm.
I’ve since worked in sales and marketing and written sales copy, website copy, brochures, email newsletters and managed social media profiles. My clients have included non-profits, small businesses, online retailers and media companies.
I also write for my own sites and created my first website with WordPress in 2006. A personal blog to display my brilliant wit, it promptly received no hits whatsoever. Within a year, however, I had been linked to by multiple popular sites and received over 20,000 hits in one month. I now own and operate three WordPress sites and have helped clients optimize their own sites for increased speed and functionality.
